Typical Climbing Seasons
The weather in Moab is best for climbing in the Spring and Fall.  Temperatures are optimal during these seasons: neither too hot or too cold.  Of course, this also means that the camping is easiest during these seasons.

During the winter, temps get much colder and if the winter warms up a little, the ground can be pretty soggy from snow melt.  Daytime temps can sometimes only reach the upper 30s and nighttime lows can drop down to single digits.

Summer is typically very hot and therefore it's less desirable to climb in Moab from June to August.  Late May and early September can also be hot.  If you end up in Moab during the Summer, there are some shady spots to climb as well as climbing at higher elevation from town.

Stop by Pagan Mountaineering when you come to town and ask us how the temperature has been or where we recommend climbing for each season.
